Seeking Expressions of Interest from artists
In this launch year the inaugural Creative Director, Rosie Dennis, is seeking EOIs from professional artists to respond to the theme of 'liberty'. She says:
This theme can be interpreted globally and locally, as celebrating the nation as a whole or a neighbourhood. I’m interested in sparking a fuller conversation about who chooses freedom for whom, in what space and during what time. This idea can be interpreted through multiple lenses, affording me the opportunity to have a series of conversations around Tasmania as I develop my curatorial vision for the exhibition.
The artists may be working across any art form, including design, screen and digital arts, literature, visual art, music, theatre, sound, live art and installation.
In total, ten artists will be commissioned as part of Liberty 2020. The final works will be installed in TMAG and site specifically in Hobart.
Submissions must be received by Monday 13 May 2019 at 5 pm.
