The community were invited to participate in a postcard exhibition by submitting creative responses on an A5 arched postcard to the provocation: Epoch - What do you hope to see in the future?
Artists drew, painted, sculpted, wrote, scribed, collaged or photographed onto the front of the postcard and gave a brief explanation of their rationale on the back.
This year we had an overwhelming 200+ postcards submitted with the majority of artworks being made by children. There were some consistent themes emerging when responding to the theme Epoch. These included hopes for stopping consumerism, global warming, taking better care of each other and our planet, greater connectivity with nature and of course many children wanted space robots to do all their chores for them and their mums.
We will have an online gallery of all the postcards which you will be able to see here after the exhibition has opened.
Prizes for Judges Choice, Kids (5 to 12yrs) and Youth (13 to 18yrs) categories will be announced at the Exhibition launch event and the People's Choice prize will be revealed on the closing day once all the public votes have been submitted.
