Dexter Rosengrave

Dexter is a multimedia artist based in nipaluna Hobart who creates art about language, metaphor, queerness and identity. Their recent work explores different archival ways to subvert the loss of queer history and communicate future queer liberation.

In 2018, Dexter was awarded the Rosamond McCulloch Studio Residency in Paris, received an ANZ and Sydney Mardi Grant to develop Body as an Archive: Tracking the Transgender Experience in Tasmania, and exhibited in The Pink Palace at Dark Mofo. They have worked alongside Marina Abramović, L.A. based performance artists Cassils, and Mike Parr and recently won the Midsumma and Australia Post Art Prize for their work The After-Image.
