Jagath is an inter-media artist who lives in Sydney with his family. His work is chiefly informed by incidents of fragility in the principles of humanity. In the early 1990s he was forced to leave Sri Lanka owing to political and human rights activism and granted political asylum in France. He moved to Australia in 2008.
Jagath is an Amnesty International Human Rights Innovation Fund Grant recipient. He has presented his work in a number exhibitions including Another day in paradise at Campbelltown Arts Centre (2017) as a part of Sydney Festival. His practice also involves facilitating community cultural art projects.
